In October, The International School of Minnesota and local orthodontist, Dr. Michelle Bergsrud, teamed up to promote good dental health. Dr. Bergsrud’s clinic, Beautiful Smiles, created an opportunity for ISM students to support local food shelves and troops overseas. Her clinic donated $1 to the ICA Food Shelf for every pound of candy that was collected by ISM students and families on Halloween and all the candy collected was sent to our troops overseas in a show of appreciation for their service to our country.
ISM donated 275 pounds of candy to Dr. Bergsrud and her efforts! That means she donated $275 to the ICA Food Shelf and sent all 275 pounds of candy to troops overseas!
Most recently, Dr. Bergsrud and Cara Johnson-Blystone (of the Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund) received thank you letters and pictures from the troops in Afghanistan who received the candy that ISM collected and donated! Click on the letter below to see the results of our efforts.
Thanks to all the ISM students and families who donated candy back to ISM and Beautiful Smiles last October! You definitely made a difference!
